بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

 In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

۩وَالَّيْلِ اِذَايَغْشٰى

By the night enshrouding.

۩وَالنَّهَارِاِذَاتَجَلّٰى

And the day resplendent.

۩وَمَاخَلَقَ الذَّكَرَوَاْلاُنْثٰى

And Him Who hath created male and female.

۩اِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتّٰى

Lo! your effort is dispersed (toward divers ends).

۩فَاَمَّامَنْ اَعْطٰى وَاتَّقٰى

As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah).

۩وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنٰى

And believeth in goodness;

۩فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرٰى

Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 

۩وَاَمََّامَنْ بَحِلَ وَاسْتَغْنٰى

But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent,

۩وَكَدَّبَ بِالْحُسْنٰى

And disbelieveth in goodness;.

۩فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرٰى

Surely We will ease his way unto adversity.

۩وَمَايُغْنِيْ عَنْهُ مَالُهُٓ اِذَاتَرَدّٰىٓ

 His riches will not save him when he perisheth.

۩اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدٰى

Lo! Ours it is (to give) the guidance.

۩وَاِنَّ لَنَا لَلْاٰخِرَةَ وَاْلاُوْلٰى

And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former.

۩فَاَنْذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًاتَلَظّٰى

Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire.

۩لاَيَصْلٰهَآاِلاَّاْلاَسْقَى

Which only the most wretched must endure,

۩الَّذِيْ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰى

He who denieth and turneth away.

۩وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَاالْاَتْقَى

Far removed from it will be the righteous.

۩الَّذِيْ يُؤْتِيْ مَالَهُ يَتَزَكّٰى

Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness).

۩وَمَالِاَحَدٍ عِنْدَهُ مِنْ نِعْمَةِ تُجْزٰىٓ

And none hath with him any favour for reward.

۩اِلاَّابْتِغَآءَوَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْاَعْلٰى

Except as seeking (to fulfil) the purpose of his Lord Most High.

۩وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضٰى

He verily will be content.
